Overview
We seek compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities and other needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and quality of life. You will work closely with clients in various settings, in the home and the community; your contributions will make a significant difference in the lives of those you support.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for residents.
- Help clients with mobility and transportation needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and preferences.
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure a safe environment that promotes dignity and respect.
- Monitor client health status and report any changes or concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote interaction and community involvement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any incidents that occur during shifts.
Qualifications
- Experience in social work, caregiving, or related fields is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of patient care practices and resident rights is essential.
- Ability to lift clients safely and assist with heavy lifting tasks as needed.
- Familiarity with working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those requiring specialized support is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and building rapport with clients and their families.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others achieve their highest level of independence.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
