Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to join our leadership team. The DON will oversee the clinical operations of our home health and hospice programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and compliance with all regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a passion for patient-centered care and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in home health and hospice care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical oversight and leadership to the nursing team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care that aligns with the organization’s standards and best practices.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all home health and hospice services comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
- Staff Development: Train, mentor, and retain nursing staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment that promotes professional growth and development.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain and continuously improve quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and ensure continuous improvement in clinical practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, chaplain, social workers, and administrators, to coordinate patient care and achieve organizational goals.
- Patient Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs are met with compassion, respect, and dignity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within home health or hospice care.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; proficiency in clinical software and electronic medical records (EMR); knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
