We are excited to add a Hospice Chaplain to our team. We seek individuals who can enrich our patient-centric environment with their unique blend of empathy, compassion, and deep understanding of spiritual and emotional needs during the end-of-life journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides and maintains a record of direct spiritual care to patients and their families or caregivers.
- Provides consultation, education, and support to the interdisciplinary group on spiritual care.
- Provides funeral or memorial services for patients as requested.
- Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
- Communicates with community chaplains, spiritual counselors, and spiritual care volunteers to meet patient and family or caregiver needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, MDiv, or equivalent theological degree). Experience working with death, dying, and grief support is preferred.
- Ability to work harmoniously as a member of an interdisciplinary group.
- Comfort in an interfaith setting and respect for different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
- Strong community networking skills with clergy and congregations.
- Commitment to the hospice philosophy of care.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
