About the position:
The Area Concession Manager will oversee the daily operations of food and beverage service at several of our concessions located in Canton, MA and Yarmouth, MA. This role involves managing staff, inventory, budgets, and vendor relationships while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.. The Area Concession Manager also plays a critical role in enhancing the overall guest experience by providing efficient and enjoyable food and beverage service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Staff Management:
- Train and supervise concession staff, including cashiers and cooks.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching, feedback, and discipline as needed.
Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day concession operations ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and organization.
- Monitor service quality, ensuring products are served at the correct temperature and in a timely manner.
- Implement and enforce food safety standards, health regulations, and hygiene practices.
- Maintain inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, storing, and rotating stock as needed.
- Monitor equipment maintenance and ensure all appliances are in good working condition.
Vendor & Supplier Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with food and beverage suppliers to ensure a consistent, high-quality product offering.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual terms with vendors and suppliers.
- Ensure that inventory is stocked and that the venue is always prepared.
Customer Service:
- Ensure that all guests are served in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner.
- Address customer complaints or concerns, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining guest satisfaction.
- Implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction, including product offerings, speed of service, and overall guest experience..
Food Preparation and Cooking:
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, specifications, and menu standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and stovetops, ensuring they are used safely and effectively.
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Cook food to the correct temperature, ensuring safety and flavor.
- Ensure that all orders are completed in a timely manner, especially during peak hours or events.
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and stocked with necessary ingredients and equipment.
- Follow proper cleaning and sanitation protocols, including regular cleaning of kitchen tools, surfaces, and equipment.
- Ensure all food is stored properly according to food safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in hospitality or management is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in food and beverage management.
- Experience in working in high-volume environments.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, inventory management, and financial oversight.
Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), Google Workspace and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications:
- Food Handlers Certification, ServSafe Certification or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
