About the position:
The Chef will lead kitchen operations at the Princeton Country Club, ensuring consistent quality and presentation of food, managing food costs, and aligning the culinary offerings with the company’s brand, values, and customer expectations. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced chef with strong leadership, organizational, and communication abilities. Prior experience in event catering is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute menus that align with the company’s branding and culinary vision.
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure consistent output.
- Train and manage kitchen staff.
- Provide leadership and guidance to cooks and kitchen staff to foster a positive and efficient working environment.
- Manage food budgets and track expenses.
- Control inventory and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, food safety regulations, and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with marketing and event sales teams.
Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field.
- 4 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong culinary expertise, including knowledge of food trends, techniques, and food preparation methods.
- Proven ability to lead a team, manage multiple tasks, and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to train and develop kitchen staff.
- Proficient in budgeting, inventory management, and cost control.
- Passion for cooking, attention to detail, and a commitment to high standards.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Certifications:
- Food Handlers Certification, ServSafe Certification or equivalent required.
