ACE Investigator

We are seeking a skilled ACE Civil Investigator to join the USAO office in Hammond, Indiana. The personnel will be responsible for generating and conducting new investigations, and continuing with ongoing investigations and civil actions involving fraud in areas such as healthcare, contracting, and grants, as well as other fraud and abuse of federal public funds and programs.

Duties:

• Meet semi-annually with agency personnel to discuss and generate fraud investigations.
• Collaborate with ACE Coordinators and agency personnel to identify potential fraud cases and develop investigative strategies.
• Conduct thorough investigations to determine the merits and collection likelihood of any matter or case assigned by the ACE Coordinator.
• Perform a variety of ancillary investigation-related services to support ongoing investigations.
• Utilize electronic databases to identify documents and physical evidence relevant to investigations.
• Prepare interim and final reports on investigation progress for use by AUSAs and supervisory attorneys.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in conducting investigations, preferably in federal or financial frauds.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess evidence and generate actionable insights.
• Proficient in utilizing electronic databases and investigation tools.
• Certification in fraud investigation or related fields is a plus.
• Ability to conduct thorough research and analysis.
• Knowledge of legal procedures related to fraud investigation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Type: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $28.50 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
