Job Summary
The Production Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will oversee the activity of the production quality assurance staff. S/he will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the production of Legacy’s products and incoming product/component inspection.
Responsibilities
- Implements and manages a quality management system for the production process
- Establishes and implements metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable operations leadership to make sound product quality decisions
- Communicates quality standards and parameters which were determined by the Product Development team to production QA team and Operations leadership employees
- Manages the incoming product and components inspection process and the operational quality inspection processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery
- Manages quality inspector personnel on a day-to-day basis, ensuring department is adequately staffed, trained, and performing quality inspections correctly
- Identifies and analyzes issues, defects, and other problems
- Communicates with internal quality representatives and operations team concerning issues and assures that effective corrective action is implemented
- Reports quality issues, trends, and losses to senior leadership
- Oversees equipment calibration and testing programs
- Participates in quality audits (conducted by both internal and external sources)
- Coordinates product testing processes during product development
- Identifies opportunities for QA department to increase capabilities through new equipment, software, and techniques
Supervisory Responsibilities
The incumbent will have direct supervisory responsibilities over all production quality personnel
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field is required
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related field is required
- Or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position
- Previous supervisory experience is a plus
