Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing a wide range of pediatric health issues while collaborating with families and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and health histories.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions.
- Perform procedures such as venipuncture, tube feeding, and cardiac catheterization as needed.
- Provide care for infectious diseases and monitor vital signs to ensure patient stability.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver care remotely when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate medical records using ICD-9 coding for diagnoses.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care services.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Pediatric Nurse Practitioner studies.
- Current certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP).
- Valid state nursing license with prescriptive authority.
- Experience in acute care settings is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in patient assessment techniques and familiarity with pediatric health issues.
- Skills in performing procedures such as venipuncture, tube feeding, and cardiac catheterization are desirable.
- Knowledge of telehealth practices is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
