Position Overview

The Customer Experience Team Member is one of the most visible and valued positions on our retail team. As the first point of contact for every customer—whether in person or on the phone—you’ll play a key role in shaping the customer experience at Legacy Meat Co.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for answering customer inquiries, managing transactions, completing cut sheets and split forms, maintaining inventory, assisting with load-outs, and keeping the store organized and running smoothly. You’ll be expected to take initiative, communicate clearly, and proactively support both customers and teammates to ensure a premium experience from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Communication

  • Be the first to answer all incoming customer phone calls and provide assistance or redirect as needed.
  • Greet and assist customers upon arrival, offering friendly, knowledgeable service.
  • Prioritize ringing up customers at the register before other team members.
  • Maintain and update the daily communication log to ensure smooth operations across shifts.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with both customers and colleagues.

Sales & Transaction Processing

  • Operate the POS system to process cash, credit, and digital transactions efficiently.
  • Provide accurate change, issue receipts, and answer payment-related questions.
  • Keep the checkout area organized and stocked with necessary supplies.

Product Handling & Inventory Management

  • Complete customer cut sheets before management and other team members to keep processing on schedule.
  • Accurately fill out and process split forms for customer orders.
  • Stock and organize freezers, ensuring products are easy to access and properly rotated using FIFO practices.
  • Alert management to low inventory, special order needs, or product issues.
  • Assist with inventory tracking, labeling, and freezer management.

Load-Out Assistance

  • Promptly assist customers with loading orders into their vehicles.
  • Verify order accuracy and provide courteous, efficient support during the load-out process.
  • Perform load-outs proactively whenever available.

Operational Support & Team Collaboration

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including retail, stock, and freezer areas.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
  • Support teammates with stocking, cleaning, and additional duties as needed.
  • Actively contribute ideas to improve team efficiency and customer satisfaction

  • POS & Cash Handling: Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and accurate transaction processing.
  • Organized & Detail-Oriented: Skilled at multitasking while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Team-Oriented: Works well with others, takes initiative, and steps in where needed.
  • Adaptable & Solution-Focused: Thrives in a fast-paced environment and solves problems proactively.
  • Dependable: Reliable, punctual, and accountable with a strong work ethic.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 29 per week
