POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lumber Yard Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the lumber yard, ensuring safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The team lead will manage a team of yard associates by delegating work orders, coordinating material handling, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Schedule and assign tasks to yard associates.
- Supervise and guide yard team, ensuring productivity.
- Train and coach yard team and communicate company directives to staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Monitor yard inventory levels and lumber deliveries.
- Maintaining yard in a clean and orderly condition.
- Ensure all staff follow safety procedures and use PPE.
- Assist staff with workloads and customer pickups, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year's relevant experience preferred.
- Previous leadership or supervisory preferred.
- Knowledge of lumber grades, building materials, and handling equipment required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles (Forklift, Moffit, etc).
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
- Ability to work in seasonal weather conditions
Legacy Metals LLC offers competitive wages contingent upon experience, education, and skills. Starting rate for this role is $18.00/hr.
The schedule for this role is Monday - Friday from 7 am to 5 pm.
