We are currently seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Assistant to support our Life Enrichment Director in planning and delivering dynamic programs that promote social interaction, physical activity, and emotional well-being.
Position: Activity Assistant
Location: Lodi, CA
Department: Life Enrichment
Reports to: Life Enrichment Director
Schedule: Flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
Key Responsibilities:
✨ Resident Engagement:
- Lead and assist with a variety of daily activities, including arts & crafts, games, exercise classes, music, and educational programs.
- Encourage resident participation, fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment.
- Offer one-on-one engagement for residents who prefer or require individual activities.
Activity Planning & Implementation:
- Assist in developing and executing a monthly activity calendar tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
- Set up, lead, and clean up after activities, ensuring safety and enjoyment for all participants.
- Help coordinate special events and off-site outings.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Track resident participation and provide feedback to the Life Enrichment Director.
- Report changes in residents’ behaviors or conditions to the wellness team.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with staff from all departments to organize community-wide events.
- Assist in coordinating volunteers and interns who support activities.
Resource & Safety Management:
- Maintain activity supplies and equipment.
- Ensure all activities follow safety protocols and comply with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Passion for working with seniors and enhancing their quality of life.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead group activities and connect with residents on a personal level.
- Previous experience in activity planning, senior care, or recreational therapy is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Employment Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Tuberculosis (TB) clearance as required by the State.
- Clear criminal background and fingerprint check per state regulations.
- LIC 503 Health Screening Report and LIC 508 Criminal Record Statement.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Comfortable with prolonged periods of activity and occasional heavy lifting.
- Ability to assist residents during activities and outings.
