Behavioral Support Specialist – Join Our Compassionate Care Team!
Are you passionate about helping others and making a real difference in people’s lives? We’re looking for a Behavioral Support Specialist to provide compassionate care and support to residents with behavioral health needs in an assisted living facility.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with Daily Activities: Help residents with activities like bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
- Provide Behavioral Support: Implement behavior management strategies, offer emotional support, and respond to distress or agitation in a calm, caring manner.
- Ensure Safety: Maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents, responding to emergencies and using crisis intervention techniques when necessary.
- Collaborate with a Team: Work closely with healthcare professionals, families, and other team members to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Document & Report: Keep accurate records of care and report any changes in behavior or condition to the appropriate team members.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: At least 5 years of caregiving experience and 1-3 years in a behavioral health environment.
- Compassion & Patience: A natural ability to offer emotional support and understanding, especially during challenging times.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and spend extended periods on your feet.
- Team Player: Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to care.
- Certifications: Current TB certificate, First Aid & CPR certification, criminal background check clearance, and fingerprint clearance.
