Position Title: Caregiver
Reports To: Resident Care Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Caregiver is responsible for assisting residents with daily activities, providing physical care, and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment. This role involves supporting residents’ independence while meeting their needs, including personal care, meals, and housekeeping tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the community’s philosophy of promoting independence and self-care.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Escort residents to meals and activities, encouraging independence when possible.
- Provide laundry, housekeeping, and meal service as directed.
- Demonstrate infection control practices and proper handling of linens, bedpans, and other equipment.
- Document care provided according to community policies and procedures.
- Report changes in resident’s health or behavior to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
- Assist with emergency procedures and activities as needed.
- Provide coverage for the front desk, including phone and alarm system monitoring.
- Wear a name tag at all times and perform other duties as requested by management.

- Ability to spend extended periods on your feet and assist with heavy lifting (up to 80 lbs.).
Other Requirements:
- Tuberculosis (TB) certificate as required by the state.
- First Aid and CPR certifications required.
- Criminal background check and fingerprint clearance.
- Must be at least 18 years of age (or the minimum age required by state regulations).
- Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift residents (up to 80 lbs.) and assist with mobility.
- Exposure to blood and bodily fluids is possible.
Training & Experience:
- Experience working with elderly populations is preferred but not required.
- Must complete required state certifications for caregiver responsibilities.
