Legacy Parking is a rapidly growing Parking Asset Management Company looking to expand our Corporate team in Downtown Chicago! We're looking to add a Human Resources Manager to our team. The Human Resources Manager will lead and manage all HR functions for the organization, serving as the sole HR professional and a champion of the company’s culture. This role requires a well-rounded HR expert who can manage recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, and employee development while fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture. As the key HR representative, the Human Resources Manager will work closely with leadership to align HR initiatives with business goals, creating a supportive environment where employees feel engaged, valued, and empowered to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Culture and Employee Engagement
- Serve as a culture ambassador, fostering an environment of inclusivity, collaboration, and high morale.
- Design and implement employee engagement programs and recognition initiatives that promote a strong, positive culture.
- Partner with leadership to ensure that HR practices reflect and reinforce the organization’s values, vision, and culture.
Recruiting and Onboarding
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and hiring.
- Coordinate a comprehensive onboarding experience to immerse new hires in the company culture and set them up for success.
- Develop and maintain job descriptions, ensuring roles are accurately defined and aligned with company needs.
Employee Relations and Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, addressing issues and resolving conflicts with a focus on positive outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with employees at all levels, creating a trusted resource for guidance and support.
- Promote a culture of open communication, recognition, and feedback to strengthen team cohesion.
Performance Management
- Design and implement performance management systems, including regular reviews and feedback processes.
- Assist managers in setting goals, conducting evaluations, and addressing performance concerns.
- Provide coaching and guidance to employees and managers to support professional growth and alignment with company culture.
- Administer and manage employee corrective action processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, labor laws, and best practices to address performance, behavior, or attendance issues effectively and equitably.
Benefits Administration
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave management, and wellness programs.
- Act as a liaison with benefits providers, ensuring programs are effectively managed and employees have access to resources.
- Educate employees on benefit options and support them through the enrollment and renewal processes.
- Oversee the worker’s compensation process, including reporting claims, coordinating with insurance providers, monitoring case progress, and ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements to support employee recovery and return-to-work efforts.
Policy Development and Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, managing record-keeping, reporting, and documentation.
- Keep up to date with employment law changes and update company policies as necessary to remain compliant.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports, including EEOC filings, 401(k) nondiscrimination testing, and other regulatory requirements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to federal, state, and organizational guidelines
Employee Development and Training
- Identify training needs and create programs to support employee skills development, leadership training, and career growth.
- Facilitate workshops, seminars, or online training sessions on topics such as communication, management, and compliance.
- Support succession planning and talent management to ensure the organization’s long-term success.
Payroll
- Manage and execute end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely preparation, calculation, and distribution of employee pay while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
