Job Overview
Legacy Supply Chain is hiring a Safety and ISO Manager to support our Mt. Juliet, TN facility. As the Safety and ISO Manager you will ensure Safety and ISO compliance for the facility. The individual must be willing to help all team members with safety to ensure compliance with documented procedures throughout the facility. You will also oversee equipment and procedure training for the facility. Additionally, the ideal candidate must be able to interact with senior management and customers in a productive and professional manner. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match.
Schedule and Compensation
- Monday through Friday - 8:00am to 4:30pm
- This position requires flexibility of onsite hours for both 1st and 2nd shifts including the weekends.
Job Details
What to expect as the Safety and ISO Manager:
- Partner with Legacy leadership and onsite customer ABB in the planning and implementation of EH&S initiatives for the DC.
- Manage safety performance metrics and regulatory recordkeeping requirements including the OSHA 300 log and RIR reporting for the facility.
- Conduct and manage the safety orientation program for all newly hired associates, temporary associates and contractors.
- Lead monthly safety committee meetings and provide guidance for safety awareness and protocols for the facility to ensure proper safe work methods are being demonstrated.
- Oversee the monthly safety audit program to assure compliance with applicable regulations and manage document findings of any corrective actions.
- Lead accident/injury/safety investigations and follow-up (i.e. training, etc.); to identify root cause findings, including investigation follow up reporting in Intelex.
- Manage onsite ISO program including Gensuite reporting, audits, training records, procedural updates and communication for the facility.
- Oversee JSA program to assure job risks have been identified and safe job elements are implemented.
- Identify and train associates on train-the-trainer initiatives.
- Establish ongoing safety awareness and communication to keep a strong safety culture.
- Manage Safety Data Sheet database and update as needed.
- Manage Lockout/Tagout documentation and procedures for facility.
- Manage to constant change and continuous improvement as it relates to current OSHA, Safety and ISO requirements. Abides by all OSHA rules and Legacy Supply Chain Services safety practices.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with 3 to 5 years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- 3-5 years of Safety and Regulatory compliance experience from a manufacturing and/or warehouse and environmental compliance experience is ideal.
3 years ISO experience and knowledgeable in ISO requirements. Current ISO certification preferred.
- Candidate must be able to work independently with minimal supervision: self-starter with high drive for quality results.
- Knowledge of local, state and federal applicable regulations: OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable reporting requirements.
- Multi-tasking, adapting to the changing needs of the distribution center, meeting deadlines, and providing support as workloads fluctuate in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading and improving safety programs while focusing on developing a strong safety culture to prevent accidents/injuries.
- Experience in mentoring safety teams, managing a safety training program, job safety analyses, promoting safety through awareness and communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, a proven history of effective relationship building, and the ability to work well with all levels within the organization. Excellent judgment, project management, process improvement, problem solving skills, presentation skills, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Manage to constant change and continuous improvement as it relates to current OSHA, Safety and ISO requirements.
- Experience working in a multi-shift team environment, adapting to the changing needs of the organization, and providing support as workloads fluctuate.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Application Software, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint applications.
