Job Overview
Legacy Supply Chain is currently seeking a Yard Transportation Supervisor to lead the Gate, Yard, and Spotting operations for our client, GE Appliances. The Yard Transportation Supervisor will be responsible for providing quality and efficient customer service to our client and Legacy Supply Chain management through optimizing operations. This position is responsible for managing spotting and gate operations, coaching team members, resolving issues, as well as the analysis and implementation of staffing, training, and scheduling reward/recognition programs. This supervisor will serve as a link between daily operators and upper management and will work strategically with Legacy and GEA Leadership to implement next level processes and procedures throughout the business.This position includes a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match.

Job Details
What to expect as a Yard Transportation Supervisor:
- Oversee enforcement of policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
- Works with Operations Manager and other leaders to identify and address inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction.
- Maintain/Create all current and new SOPs for operational success
- Implement and conduct new employee training.
- Find and escalate training opportunities and conduct on-the-spot training as needed to maintain operational excellence.
- Communicate shift needs efficiently with production Material Leaders, Distribution Teams, as well as Spotters and Gate teams.
- Create and maintain a professional working relationship with all vendors, customers, and employees
- Initiate discipline procedures of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy and Teamster’s Contract pertaining to attendance and performance.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on performance evaluations to General Manager.
- Supervise team schedules and step in to perform assigned duties as needed.
- Identify needed facilities or lot improvements and work alongside the plant, distribution, and facilities team to implement.
- Monitor employee performance through activity and error reports and conduct necessary discussions as needed to maintain standards of excellence.
- Troubleshoot necessary technical issues regarding equipment operation.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as Transportation Supervisor or equivalent level Associates Degree
- Experience working in team-oriented environment
- Experience working within a Union CBA
- Transportation or warehouse experience preferred
- Troubleshoot problems as they arise
- Prompt and exceptional judgment, problem solving skills, and decision making
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Application Software, including Outlook, Excel and Word
