POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager plans construction projects and oversees their progress along the way in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner. Responsible for all aspects of planning, organization, implementation and scheduling of projects. Responsible for taking a project from point of award to final-close-out and preventing safety incidents, ensuring quality performance, maintaining project schedule and delivering excellent customer service. PM’s will manage multiple projects at a time depending on size, complexity, and geographic location. Some regional travel may be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Supports, implements and leads, all aspects of the E & W Safety Program
- Works with Safety to develop the initial “Site Specific Safety Program” during the review of the “Pre-Construction Safety Meeting” along with project specifications
- Creates and maintains the project schedule including but not limited to schedule look-a heads
- Committed to continuous improvement and implementing best practices.
- Proactively manages, prevents and communicates any delays, emergencies and problems that can arise
- Coaches and develops project Foreman, Foreman in Training and Leadmen.
- Oversees and directs construction projects from conception to completion
- Ensures and adheres to all quality policies and procedures as outlined by E & W and the customer
- Coordinates and directs construction workers and subcontractors
- Selects tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
- Meets contractual conditions of performance as outlined by the customer and E & W Construction
- Reviews the work progress on a daily basis
- Prepares internal and external reports pertaining to job status
- Obtains permits and licenses as required
- Analyzes, manages and mitigates risks

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Three (3) or more years related experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP certification) preferred but willing to accept commensurate experience
- Good communication, organization and time management skills
- Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and customer-focused
- Proven working experience in construction project management
- Expert knowledge of means and methods, building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process
- Familiarity with construction management software packages
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Leadership and Human Resources Management skills
- Ability to work as part of a goal-oriented team
