POSITION SUMMARY
The Estimator is responsible for developing cost estimates for projects based on work scope, specifications, and contract proposals using applicable estimating methodologies and tools.
Onsite in Huntington, WV. We can provide relocation assistance if needed.
Salary : $115-130k depending on experience. 100% paid Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance
Direct Experience in General Contracting Estimating is required for this position. This is a part of East and Westbrooks General Contracting Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions include but are not limited to the following :
- Prepares cost estimates at various stages of design from schematic and budget to detailed take-off and pricing.
- Builds and maintains healthy and long-term relationships with clients, vendors, and other project managers.
- Communicates with architects, engineers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors efficiently; and prepares economic feasibility studies on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Builds rapport with client representatives and ensure scope of project and outside business forces affecting the project is fully understood and that specific deliverables are fully understood with performance standards and other relevant criteria.
- Participates in project meetings, reviewing schedules, and preparing reports.
- Visits project sites, warehouses, and other facilities necessary to complete estimates.
- Solicits the input of the Safety, Heath and Quality Department regarding what anticipated safety requirements will be needed for the Project.
- Estimates projects foreseeable safety requirements and costs and includes with estimate.
- Develops and maintains the Master Project Schedule. Adjusts critical path and project milestones as required.
- Actively tracks each aspect of project performance against schedules and critical path.
- Prepares various RFP's needed for vendor and contractor services for the complete project.
- Manages project financials and prepares to report current budget / cost status and the anticipated final cost.
