Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities in the machine shop , ensuring production schedules and quality standards are met.
- Operate and oversee CNC and manual mills, lathes, grinders, and stamping equipment .
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of machinists, ensuring skill development and efficiency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to guide production.
- Perform machine setups, tool changes, and adjustments to maintain precision and minimize downtime.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and production teams to optimize processes and troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, enforcing company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of machines and tooling .
- Identify areas for continuous improvement in production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Machine Shop Lead, Supervisor, or Senior Machinist in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation (G-code, CAM software experience preferred).
- Expertise in reading blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and precision machining techniques .
- Experience with metal stamping, forming, or sheet metal fabrication is a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team .
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail .
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement .
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical degree or certification in machining, manufacturing, or related field.
- Experience in high-volume production and precision metal stamping .
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for programming and tooling design.
