Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, ensuring smooth operations, and minimizing downtime in the workplace. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems, performing preventive maintenance, and collaborating with team members to achieve operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance on processing and packaging equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Respond promptly to trouble calls to minimize downtime.
- Execute work orders and supervisor/manager-directed tasks effectively.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards, including lockout/tagout and confined space entry procedures.
- Document work performed and ensure the maintenance of work areas and tools.
- Order repair parts and materials as needed.
- Stay updated on new technologies relevant to the industry.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Demonstrated mechanical skills in areas such as gearboxes, bearings, chains, and basic electrical systems.
- Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) is a plus.
- Experience with case erectors, mixers, freezers, or dairy industry equipment is preferred.
- Familiarity with ammonia safety and basic operations is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments with allergens present.
