Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
- Fit, position, and weld structural steel, beams, frames, and metal components according to specifications.
- Operate MIG, TIG, and Stick welding equipment, ensuring strong and durable welds.
- Perform layout, cutting, grinding, and tack welding to prepare materials for final assembly.
- Inspect finished welds and assemblies to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Operate fabrication machinery, including saws, press brakes, and torches, as needed.
- Work collaboratively with fabricators, engineers, and project managers to complete projects on time.
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines, company policies, and best practices for welding and fabrication.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Structural Welder/Fitter in a metal fabrication or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Stick (SMAW) welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and GD&T specifications.
- Experience with grinding, cutting, drilling, and forming metal components.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with tight tolerances.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Welding certification (AWS, ASME, or similar) preferred.
- Experience in structural steel fabrication, industrial construction, or heavy equipment manufacturing.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and fabrication best practices.
