Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Review financial documents to identify potential deductions and credits that can benefit clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations and changes in tax law to provide informed advice to clients.
- Assist clients with inquiries regarding their tax returns and provide guidance on financial planning strategies.
- Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) to input data, generate reports, and streamline the preparation process.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
- Conduct thorough reviews of client accounts to ensure accuracy before submission.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Tax Preparer or in a similar role within public accounting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage; familiarity with other financial software is a plus.
- Excellent mathematical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in calculations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex tax concepts clearly to clients.
