Job Overview:
This position plays a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our students and staff by providing high-quality food services. As a Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals, maintaining a clean and organized dining hall, and assisting with daily cleaning duties.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve meals to students and staff in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining hall and kitchen areas
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including convection/combi ovens, microwave ovens, dishwashers, food warmers, coolers and freezers
- Assist with daily cleaning duties in the cafeteria, including cleaning equipment and work areas, mopping, operating dishwasher and/or scrubbing pots and pans
- Provide excellent customer service to students and staff
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Previous experience in food preparation and handling preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, co-workers and students
- Must display ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing situations
Work Environment:
The Food Service Worker will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with frequent temperature changes. The ideal candidate will be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 50 pounds, and move around the kitchen safely.
