Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality patient care and support in a clinical setting through working up patients and performing diagnostic testing for the doctor. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient care practices, and have the ability to communicate effectively with both patients and healthcare professionals.

Duties

  • Perform diagnostic testing for comprehensive eye exams and medical follow ups.
  • Check visual acuities, peripheral vision, intraocular pressure, muscle movements, eye alignment, color vision, and stereopsis.
  • Dilate patient's eyes.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care.
  • Prepare charts for the day's patient exams.
  • Train patients on contact lens wear.
  • Maintain stock in exam rooms and contact lens room.
  • Assist with correspondence letters for referrals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and doctor to provide personalized, high-level care.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in patient care or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic physiology is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical records management systems is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and staff.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience in retail sales or optical settings is a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients at all times.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38.5 per week
