Legal Aid of West Virginia (LAWV) is hiring a part-time attorney in our Logan office
Do you want to make an impact on the lives of people? Legal Aid of West Virginia (LAWV), the state’s primary provider of civil legal aid, is seeking a skilled, motivated attorney to help change the lives of vulnerable clients.
Employees begin by earning 13 sick leave hours and 11.25 annual leave hours per month, as well as 3 floating holidays per year. These amounts increase with years of service. LAWV also has a generous Holiday schedule, 16 paid Holidays per year. Health insurance for employees and their families is provided at a nominal rate. If you are provided insurance elsewhere, additional compensation is available for your 403(b)-retirement account. LAWV provides dental coverage for employees and their families free of charge. We offer vision, hearing, and flexible spending accounts, as well as disability insurance. LAWV provides regular contributions to your 403(b)-retirement account as well as matching funds. LAWV’s generous benefit package is valued at approximately $50,000/year and is definitely an asset to working here. Benefits will be prorated for a part-time position.
As an Attorney on our team, you may get the opportunity to practice regularly in magistrate, family, and circuit court. The main areas of practice will include domestic violence. You will be on the front lines helping clients in a holistic manner. Service includes in-court representation, legal advice and information, community education, and assistance with filling out forms. We also work closely with several community partners.
