Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma (LASO) is seeking a full-time receptionist in our Guymon Law Office. LASO is a team of highly motivated individuals who provide legal assistance and education. LASO focuses on helping survivors of domestic violence, protecting tenants and homeowners, assisting victims of consumer fraud and abuse, and legal problems of agricultural workers, seniors, and Native Americans. LASO is dedicated to delivering legal services and education to vulnerable Oklahomans.
This position is responsible for answering incoming calls greeting clients in the office. This position also provides general administrative and clerical support to the office.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year experience in answering multi-line telephone.
- Minimum 1 year experience in an office setting.
- Licensed as notary public a plus.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English a plus
Responsibilities and Skills
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Some variance may be present due to differences in office and staffing size.
- Answers all incoming lines in a professional manner.
- As needed, screens applicants for eligibility for assistance and enters information into case management system, and transfers other calls or messages to staff.
- Responsible for copying and assembling packets to have available for attorneys.
- Processes outgoing and incoming mail, including entering mail log data.
- Responsible for supplying copier and printer with paper.
- Treats all applicants, callers, and visitors in a friendly, courteous, and respectful manner.
- Coordinates with intake staff, paralegals, and attorneys in setting appointments for applicants.
- As needed, opens, closes and retrieves client files.
- Orders and maintains office supplies.
- Is knowledgeable and competent in operating LASO's computerized case management system's data base software for intakes, conflict checks, and calendars.
- Promote the program's efforts to involve the private bar in delivering services to eligible clients or providing other resources
- Demonstrates knowledge of standard office practices.
- Embraces and supports the Organization's overall mission, standards, policies and procedures, and confidentiality guidelines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This work is sedentary and requires the following physical activities:
