Paralegal/Legal Assistant – Family Law

LOCATION: Portland, OR
SALARY: $67k-84k/yr DOE
SCHEDULE: Full-time, hybrid option after training
8:30am-5:30pm (in-office required during trials)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage client intake, process incoming cases, and set up new matters (document review, scheduling deadlines, follow-ups).
Draft, file, serve, and track pleadings, documents, and correspondence; assist with drafting motion paperwork, settlement agreements, QDROs, and discovery requests.
Docket case schedules, hearings, mediations, depositions, and deadlines; prepare and assemble trial materials, exhibits, and witness lists.
Run child support calculations, assist in legal research, and draft legal documents.
Communicate with clients, lawyers, court personnel, and manage case workflow, file status, and deadlines.
Track and enter billable hours, use document management systems (NetDocs, iManage, ProLaw), and provide general administrative support to attorneys.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
3 Years Legal Experience, 1 Year in Family Law Preferred: Minimum of three years in law, with family law experience preferred.
Proactive, Detail-Oriented, and Responsive: Self-motivated, efficient, and deadline-driven, with a focus on responsiveness.
Strong Organizational and Time-Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to Work with Multiple Attorneys (3:1 Ratio): Capable of supporting up to three attorneys with timely and accurate assistance.
Experience with Document Management, Docketing, and Billing: Skilled in managing documents, tracking deadlines, and entering billable hours.
Background Check Required: Employment subject to a successful background check.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs: Moving boxes, large files, climb up and down step stools.
