Description
The Host/Take Out Associate is responsible for greeting and seating guests in a friendly and personalized manner upon arrival into the restaurant. This person must maintain attentive and courteous communication with guests and answer the phone and all questions in a polite manner. This position handles take-out for our guests; ensures all take-out guidelines, specifications, quality, and service standards are met. The Host presence at the front desk is required at all times to extend an appropriate welcome, farewell, and a sincere invitation for our guests’ return.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner as they arrive at the restaurant.
• Seat guests efficiently, manage seating chart, and ensure optimal flow of diners.
• Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting list.
• Manage reservations using OpenTable.
• Answer incoming calls and respond to guest inquiries courteously.
• Receive, process, and manage takeout and delivery orders.
• Assemble and package orders paying attention to packaging techniques to avoid spills, leaks, or damage during transportation.
• Process payments for takeout orders, including cash, credit/debit, and digital payment methods.
• Ensure accurate cash handling and proper reconciliation of sales at the end of each shift.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous work experience as a Host is preferred.
• Working knowledge of OpenTable and Point of Sale is preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to handle cash and paperwork accurately.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be able to perform under pressure in a high-volume restaurant setting.
• Must be able to handle guest incidents/complaints.
