What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Assistant Commercial Litigation & Bankruptcy position at Legal Search Solutions, Inc.?
A well-established, high-end boutique law firm is seeking an experienced legal assistant/paralegal for its Fort Lauderdale, Florida, office. Candidates with at least three consistent years of recent commercial litigation experience will be considered. Experience with contract disputes and bankruptcy cases is a big plus. Strong federal court experience is required.
Salary is commensurate with experience but expected to be in the $65-75k range. The firm offers an excellent benefits package as well. In office to start but hybrid remote down the line!
Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reviewing documents for deadlines, and monitoring and calendaring same pursuant to confirmed court orders;
- Coordinating and scheduling hearings, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials, and assisting attorneys in preparation of same;
- Preparing and filing pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and related documentation, using Florida’s E-Filing portal;
- Assisting in the execution and service of discovery requests and third-party requests for production; and
- Preparing and revising legal documents and correspondence.
Qualifications:
- Experience with time tracking/entry/billing for a partner or busy associate
- Strong federal court experience
- Strong communication skills
- Highly organized
- Working knowledge of law firm case management software
- Ability to work in a team as well as individually
- Minimum 3 years commercial litigation experience
- Good professional stability and tenure
