Job Description: Legal Specialist Position - Tenants' Rights Unit
Location: Miami, FL, 33134
Job Summary:
The Legal Specialist will work in the Tenants' Rights Unit and will be responsible for providing legal support to tenants who are facing eviction or other housing-related issues. The Legal Specialist will work closely with attorneys and other legal professionals to ensure that tenants receive the legal assistance they need to protect their rights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support attorneys in their representation of tenants
- Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on their cases
- Assist with case management, including maintaining case files and tracking deadlines
- Attend court hearings and other legal proceedings as needed
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and other legal professionals as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience working in a legal environment, preferably in a tenants' rights or housing-related context
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research databases
