What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Marketing Officer position at LegalScout.AI?
Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
Remote | Part-Time | Equity-Based Compensation
About Us
LegalScout is a transformative legal tech platform designed to connect individuals and businesses with qualified attorneys quickly, efficiently, and with transparency. Through our client-facing marketplace, LegalScout conducts dynamic interviews to understand users’ legal issues and generates detailed legal briefs and summaries that attorneys can review—saving both sides time and money. Clients are matched with attorneys based on expertise, suitability, and interest, not advertising budgets.
On the B2B side, LegalScout offers white-label services to law firms, enabling them to incorporate intelligent legal intake, client-matching, and communication tools into their own websites or client workflows. LegalScout empowers firms to streamline intake, reduce overhead, and convert more leads using cutting-edge AI, automation, and user-first design.
We’re currently raising seed capital to accelerate development and go-to-market initiatives. To drive this dual-sided growth, we are seeking a strategic, driven, and visionary Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead our sales and marketing efforts across both our consumer-facing and B2B business lines.

You will be a key strategic partner to the founding team, helping to refine LegalScout’s positioning, build market traction, and establish a national brand presence.

• Design and implement marketing campaigns to attract individuals and small businesses seeking legal help.
• Develop user acquisition funnels, optimize onboarding flows, and increase conversion rates.
• Manage content strategy, SEO, SEM, and performance marketing across multiple channels.
• B2B Expansion:
• Create and execute go-to-market strategies for LegalScout’s white-label platform targeting law firms, bar associations, and legal networks.
• Build sales pipelines and cultivate leads through outbound campaigns, events, referrals, and partnerships.
• Help shape pricing, messaging, and packaging for B2B offerings.
• Brand & Positioning:
• Develop and evolve LegalScout’s brand voice, identity, and positioning in the legal services market.
• Oversee the creation of all marketing assets including pitch decks, product one-pagers, landing pages, and explainer videos.
• Partnership Development:
• Identify and secure strategic partnerships to extend reach, build credibility, and generate leads.
• Collaborate with bar associations, legaltech platforms, and complementary service providers.
• Team & Vendor Management:
• Recruit and manage freelance and agency partners for marketing, advertising, and PR.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure campaign success and optimize ROI.
Qualifications
• 5 years of experience in legal services, SaaS, or marketplace platforms with a strong track record in B2B and B2C marketing.
• Deep understanding of the legal industry and law firm operations, with experience marketing to legal professionals.
• Proven ability to lead both strategic and tactical marketing efforts across multiple channels.
• Experience building brand identity, customer acquisition campaigns, and scalable sales funnels.
• Strong business development and partnership-building skills.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment with evolving priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with remote teams and third-party contractors.
• Familiarity with startup funding cycles and equity compensation is a plus.
Compensation
