PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Compliance Analyst supports the Compliance Officer & Compliance Manager in upholding the Bank’s Compliance Management System. This entry-level role offers the chance to gain expertise in Regulatory Consumer Compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for acquiring and retaining knowledge of current laws and regulations, including updates, to assist in managing Deposit, Lending, CRA and Fair Lending consumer compliance.
- Supports the compliance department in monitoring account activity, including researching information, identifying potential issues, analyzing data, and reviewing transactional data and internal records to identify compliance risks and operational gaps. (Reg CC, Reg E, Reg DD, Reg GG, Reg Z, UDAP, ECOA, SCRA, MLA, etc.)
- Responsible for providing accurate documentation of reviews on account activity and recommendations for action to be taken.
- Understand the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and utilize this knowledge to conduct monthly compliance reviews.
- Acquire the necessary knowledge to assist in reviewing flood insurance, both prior to and following loan closing, ensuring the bank's compliance with the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA).
- Assist in evaluating policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure alignment with federal and state regulations.
- Ensure the bank's marketing materials adhere to all regulatory requirements.
- Complete online and other training as assigned.
- Other Compliance duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience Required
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
None
RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 yrs banking experience preferred.
Familiarity with banking operations, laws and regulations.
