Legend Biotech is seeking a Payroll Specialist as part of the Payroll team based in Somerset, NJ.
Role Overview
The Payroll Specialist will support the payroll processing function by ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration. This role requires close collaboration with the HR and Benefits teams to maintain and update employee data related to payroll, including new hires, terminations, and benefits deductions.
Key responsibilities include generating and analyzing payroll reports for internal audits, assisting with year-end payroll activities such as W-2 preparation and distribution, and ensuring the confidentiality of all payroll information. The Payroll Specialist will also deliver exceptional customer service by promptly addressing employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll in a professional manner
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees, ensuring accurate time and attendance records
- Coordinate with HR and Benefits to track and maintain all employee data relevant to payroll, such as new hires, terminations, and benefits deductions
- Assist with reviewing payroll-related tax filings and maintaining up-to-date records for tax purposes
- Administer employee garnishments and other withholdings
- Review and process payroll-related mail
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving payroll discrepancies and errors
- Run and analyze payroll reports for internal audits and external reporting
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll information
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing payroll-related questions and concerns from employees
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred
- Minimum of two years of relevant work experience is preferred
- Familiarity with Paylocity and Time Clock Plus is preferred
- Strong customer service orientation with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and intermediate Excel skills
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well with others, demonstrating professionalism, collaboration, and a customer-focused attitude
- Adaptable and eager to contribute to team efforts in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of meeting deadlines and multitasking while maintaining attention to detail
- Comfortable handling and processing confidential information with discretion
- Well-organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
