Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wound Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing with specialized knowledge in wound care management. Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate patients' wounds to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Perform wound care procedures, including dressing changes and debridement.
- Educate patients and their families on wound care techniques and prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and physical therapists, to develop individualized care plans.
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes using electronic health record systems such as PCC/POC.
- Conduct physical examinations as part of routine assessments for inpatient care.
- Participate in family planning discussions when necessary to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment while adhering to infection control protocols.
Experience
- Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably within a long term care facility or similar environment.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine practices and laboratory procedures related to wound management.
- Strong skills in lifting and transferring patients safely during assessments and treatments.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.
