LEGEND is currently seeking applicants for the following positions:

- Laboratory Technician (Full-Time, Permanent; $20.00/hour- Legend offers a lot of opportunity for advancement and pay increases are performance based.

- Monday through Friday: During trainining (2-6 weeks), the schedule will be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. After 2-6 weeks, the schedule will change to 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (schedule might fluctuate /- 30 minutes depending on workload, staffing, etc.)

- NORTH Phoenix location (near Bell Road & I-17)

The Laboratory Technician position requires a High School Diploma. This is an entry level laboratory position, but strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and multi-tasking are required.

Please note: Although advancement opportunities are available, we prefer at least a 12 month commitment to this position prior to advancing to other positions in the laboratory due to the length of training required. If you possess a science related degree and are eager to work in the laboratory, an entry level analyst position might be more suitable. Applicants with science related degrees will be forwarded to the laboratory department managers in the event a position becomes available. Job Requirements:

- Must be able to work in a laboratory and work with chemicals including acids, solvents, and various types of samples such as wastewater and biosolids (PPE provided).

- Must be able to quickly learn and retain a vast amount of information related to analytical methods performed at the laboratory and specific client requirements.

- This position also involves lifting, long periods of standing, and physical stamina in a fast-paced environment.

- A valid AZ driver’s license and clean driving record are required as company vehicle use is occasionally required.

- Efficiency using computer systems for data entry.

Major duties include:

- Signing in and receiving incoming samples from clients and couriers on chain of custody forms.

- Unpacking samples and preparing them for login (matching the samples with the chain of custody form, pH and temperature check) and prioritizing samples according to method hold-time.

- Logging sample and test information into Laboratory Information Management System using detailed projects and matrix specific test codes.

- Communicating discrepancies and sample issues with Project Managers and laboratory staff.

- Packing fragile, time and temperature sensitive samples for shipment to sub-contractors.

- Maintaining sample storage (putting away incoming samples and purging old samples).

- Driving the company vehicle to pick-up or deliver samples on an as needed basis.

- Other maintenance duties such as taking out the trash, changing lab paper, cleaning coolers and other general laboratory cleaning.

- Administrative duties include sorting and scanning chain of custody forms

- Other duties as needed, such as assisting with preparing sample/bottle kits, assisting with sample collection in the field, assisting laboratory with testing preparation, etc.
