What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sample Receiving Specialist position at Legend Technical Services, Inc.?
Qualifications:
A BS/BA degree in a science field and strong computer skills or high school graduation and previous experience working in a chemical analytical laboratory performing analyses or other duties to create familiarity with laboratory LIMS systems. Ability to interact with both existing staff and clientele to accomplish assigned work. Resourceful attitude and punctuality is required as this is an 8am to 5pm job without the ability to alter work schedule. Path to advancement is through the client services avenue to managing clientele as a client's services representative after sample receiving duties are mastered and a position becomes available.
Job Duties:
- Accept environmental, industrial hygiene, consumer product, and hemp/CBD samples from clients that are received in person or through shipping.
- Log samples into our laboratory information system (LIMS)
- Manage sample container supplies, and place orders accordingly
- Prepare sample containers (some requiring perservatives) utilizing appropriate PPE (typically disposable gloves.
- complete client sample container orders
- accept packages/shipments from vendors,
- prepare outgoing shipments utilizing various shipping vendors
- Mastering duties requires achieving performance without errors or ability to identify one's own errors and fix before problems occur.
