SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on building systems, equipment, and machinery within ALM. This includes electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical components, to ensure optimal functionality and safety. The position responds to emergency repairs when necessary. The technician requires strong technical skills to diagnose issues and troubleshoot malfunctions effectively.
IN THIS ROLE, THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs.
• Read electrical schematics and wire tracing.
• Troubleshoot electrical devices, including but not limited to sensors, motors, and encoders.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic mechanical repairs and adjustments on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLCs and associated hardware.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and vacuum systems
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime. This includes pneumatic, proximity sensors, servo drives, motors, and other associated equipment.
• Ordering and maintaining inventory of replacement parts and supplies needed for repairs
• Any additional duties assigned by management.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and/or experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
Technical knowledge:
• Proficient understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Troubleshooting skills:
• Ability to diagnose equipment issues and identify the root cause of malfunctions.
Hand tools and equipment proficiency:
• Familiarity with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment relevant to the facility.
Computer skills:
• Ability to use computer-based schematics, troubleshooting tools and communication and documentation tools.
Physical ability:
• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Desire for a “hands on” experience working in the manufacturing facility on production lines
Education:
• Completion of High School Diploma, trade school or equivalent. Associates degree or apprenticeship are preferred.
• Proven skill set of mechanical and electrical aptitude and ability to work on production equipment
• Familiarity with plastic production equipment a plus – extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, etc.

Manual labor positions include maintenance, warehouse, transportation, and other positions whose primary duties involve physical labor and exertion. Maintenance positions frequently operate machinery and other equipment, and clean and maintain various grounds, equipment, lighting, and other facility items. The type of work performed by persons in these positions include shipping, electrical, and picking/packing work. Persons holding transportation positions regularly operate vehicles and transport mail, packages, and other goods. Warehouse positions constantly handle equipment, packages, and other goods. Employees in manual labor positions are often required to operate a computer, read, and write. They are frequently required to communicate and interact with others, in person and over computers, phones and other devices. In addition, they are frequently required to reach, twist, lift, carry, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Persons holding manual labor positions work at specific Legend locations, but may occasionally be required to travel to other locations, as needed. Employees in these positions are frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to hot or cold weather, and wet and/or humid conditions. Positions may also be exposed to high, precarious places requiring PPE. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to loud.
