Job Title: Dockhand-Boat Washer

Summary: The Dockhand assists the marina team in serving their clients. This role is expected to provide excellent customer service and complete requests such as transporting each customer and their baggage to and from the dock. You operate a boat and other equipment as needed and help the team maintain general security while reporting potential concerns. You are also responsible for refueling boats when required and completing other routine maintenance. ** Pay commensurate with experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Secure boats to docks, connect and monitor utility services (power, water, and telephone), black water pump out, to include fendering, waste disposal and facility sanitation.
- Expedite customers’ requests including transport of patrons and baggage to and from dockside and delivery of provisions and packages.
- Routinely operates, motor and water vehicles and other various mechanized equipment.
- Provides general security and supports marina and facility security teams in their security related efforts; reports disturbances in dock area to superiors and maintains general vigilance.
- Assists refueling operations when required at the marina refueling facility, ensures safe fueling procedures to include wearing proper PPE.
- Power washes boats to remove grime, algae growth, and harmful parasites. Waxes and polishes as needed, and cleans and/or wipes down the interior, ensuring boats are presented in pristine condition.
- Provides service to marina and facility guests and carries out routine marina maintenance to equipment and facility.
- Complying with instructions or duties as may be reasonably assigned.
- Providing docking assistance to our customers.
- Working with Forklift Drivers to offload and onload vessels.
- Fueling boats and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); previous marina experience preferred; forklift experience/operator certificate helpful.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements
Knowledge
- Solid knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliant workplace safety practices.
- Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with guests and coworkers in a harmonious manner. Customer service must be a priority.
- Ability to handle multiple operational demands with a high degree of professionalism, operating often with time sensitive deadlines.

Other Qualifications
Availability Open and operational seven days a week. Employees are required to be available to workdays, and during special events.
License Requirements Valid driver’s license that has been in effect for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years. Boating Safety Education Identification Card required.
