Legend Biotech is seeking an IT Lead, Site & Manufacturing Systems as part of the IT team based in Somerset, NJ.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive IT Lead – Site & Manufacturing Systems to define, implement, and manage IT solutions that support the Raritan site and global manufacturing functions. This role will collaborate closely with business leaders to align IT strategies with organizational objectives, enabling efficient and effective technology support for Manufacturing processes.
Acting as a strategic IT partner, the IT Lead will oversee solution delivery, project execution, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will manage business expectations, deliver IT capabilities, and ensure the realization of business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary IT liaison for Raritan Site and Manufacturing business functions, building and managing stakeholder relationships and expectations.
- Develop and execute comprehensive IT strategies, roadmaps, and portfolios in alignment with business priorities.
- Proactively understand business needs, offer strategic input, and identify technology-driven opportunities for process improvement.
- Build and present business cases for IT initiatives, including cost-benefit analysis, ROI assessment, and risk evaluation.
- Lead the implementation, enhancement, and management of IT solutions supporting manufacturing processes, including SAP, MES, BINOCS, and other enterprise platforms.
- Facilitate the adoption of robotic process automation (RPA) to enhance manufacturing workflows.
- Oversee IT project delivery, ensuring compliance with architecture standards, SDLC methodologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GxP, SOX).
- Manage change controls related to manufacturing systems, evaluate system impacts, and develop appropriate change action plans, including considering interfacing systems.
- Ensure IT solutions meet functional, performance, and value criteria while promoting process efficiency through structured testing, including SIT and UAT.
- Manage partnerships with internal stakeholders and external technology vendors, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality IT service delivery.
- Lead contract negotiations and service agreement management with technology providers.
- Guarantee that IT systems supporting finance and corporate compliance adhere to regulatory and security standards.
- Lead and manage a matrixed team comprising IT professionals, consultants, and vendors to drive project execution and achieve business outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, computer, or engineering discipline (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 10 years in manufacturing IT.
- Over 10 years of IT experience, ideally within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences sector.
- Proven track record in IT business partnering and solution delivery with portfolio management experience.
- Proven experience in deploying and managing Enterprise Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Comprehensive understanding of biopharmaceutical or cell therapy manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with system interfaces, including CMMS, LIMS, ERP, and document management systems.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Applications (Access, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Word) and other relevant software.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects, demonstrate independent problem-solving skills, and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and computer systems validation (CSV).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to collaboration and achieving business goals.
- Ability to work proactively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for engaging diverse audiences.
- Exceptional organizational abilities to juggle multiple priorities.
- Proficient in tools like MS Teams, SharePoint, and project management software (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet).
- Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel for strategic presentations and data management.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
- Aptitude for aligning IT efforts with business priorities.
