LEGENDS & THE PROJECT | A’S LAS VEGAS BALLPARK 

As one of the leaders of this exciting project, you will play a pivotal role in driving the marketing for the new A’s Las Vegas Ballpark. The A’s plan to break ground on their new ballpark on the former site of the Tropicana hotel in the summer of 2025. Shaped by its location on the Las Vegas Strip, the 33,000-person capacity ballpark will offer an outdoor feel with a climate-controlled interior. With over 30 unique seating experiences, the ballpark will feature various experiences for fans, from premium suites to more casual, interactive seating options. The tiered seating is designed to bring fans closer to the action, with some of the closest seats to home plate in all of MLB. The A’s are set to host their first Opening Day at the new ballpark in 2028.

THE ROLE

The Manager, Marketing will be an integral member of the team and is the key driver for project organization and content creation for multi-channel marketing and sales campaigns. You will support marketing campaign management to support our sales goals, elevate the brand story, and inspire fans and businesses to engage with and support the A’s Las Vegas Ballpark. We are looking for a self-starter, with a deep understanding of Major League Baseball (MLB) operations and fan engagement. The ideal candidate needs to be confident in their abilities, and able to work effectively while managing multiple priorities. This individual should be highly organized and able to balance strategic problem solving with thought-provoking creative thinking.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the creation, implementation, management and measurement of omnichannel marketing campaigns (email, social media, webinars and sponsored events, paid search, display ads, retargeting, direct mail, etc.) with a strong emphasis on MLB-specific marketing strategies.
  • Overseeing the execution of copy and video content for website, sales application, partner pitches, sales center, and other digital marketing channels, leveraging insights from previous MLB experience.
  • Built and managed automated e-mail marketing campaigns in collaboration with the A's marketing team.
  • Generate “outside the box” ideas for the development of innovative copy and video content to tell the A’s Las Vegas Ballpark sales stories in a dynamic way.
  • Organize and manage content/asset library for the website, digital sales application, sales center and other projects.
  • Bi-weekly meeting with the A’s marketing team to evaluate needs.
  • Ensure projects stay on track by handling multiple moving pieces simultaneously from origin to execution, navigating the unique challenges of an MLB franchise launch while working closely with the Athletics’ marketing team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work with changing priorities.
  • Collaborate with the A’s and Legends Teams to maintain brand integrity and authenticity throughout all content and campaigns, integrating MLB standards and compliance guidelines.
  • Develop specific marketing campaigns to reach current and new target audiences.
  • Work alongside A’s marketing team to establish and meet all KPIs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE    

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years’ demonstrated experience in marketing and content creation.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Previous experience working with an MLB team, league office, or related baseball entity is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Las Vegas market is strongly preferred.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite on MAC (specifically, After Effects and Adobe Premiere – experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is a plus).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Ability to handle multiple design projects in a fast-paced weekly workflow, particularly in a professional sports environment.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with a strong work ethic.
  • Flexibility to travel, work nights and weekends throughout the project.
