THE ROLE
The Merchandise Associate is responsible for providing quick and efficient service to guests in a variety of duties relating to a retail store service experience including recording transactions and collecting payment with a point of sale system, stocking fixtures and providing a Legendary experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Properly records all transactions via the point of sale system and informs guests of amount owed
- Collects the proper money for transaction; processes credit card or collects cash and determines correct change for guests
- Accounts for all transactions; maintains accurate cash count and balance banks at end of shift
- Provides customer service to guests by being knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the products available for purchase
- Suggest additional items to customers, as appropriate
- Ensure that all fixtures are clean, stocked and tidy to deliver a full service
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that partners can locate resources and products as needed
- Ensure that the correct close down procedure is followed: all areas of the store are to be left clean, tidy and secure, ready for the next day’s service
- Assist with daily, weekly and month inventory as needed
- Provide guidance to inclusive of retail options and general information
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent guest service skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills; ability to accurately count change and balance bank
- Ability to work long hours and flexible shifts including: mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to transport up to 50 lbs on a continuous basis
- Willingness and drive to exceed the guest expectations
- Ability to effectively listen and take direction from supervisor
- Ability to be on your feet for long hours
- Ability to bend and squat
- Ability to work independently or in a team during set up and to get tasks done quickly
- Ability to communicate effectively with management and guests
- Ability to work all major events, including: extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and additional job specific safety training
