THE ROLE

The Food Runner at the Maryland Club, located in the XFINITY Center in College Park, MD, plays a crucial role in providing exceptional dining experiences by ensuring efficient and accurate delivery of food and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. This position reports to the Food and Beverage Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist the front-of-house (FOH) team in the seamless execution of restaurant operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the back-of-house (BOH) workspace to meet club standards.
• Set up and close BOH and FOH areas to Maryland Club standards.
• Deliver food orders promptly and accurately to the correct tables and seat number.
• Provide detailed descriptions of delivered menu items and answer basic guest questions about food and ingredients.
• Ensure proper stock rotation of perishables such as sauces and condiments.
• Maintain and organize stock in the expo area and BOH.
• Support FOH and BOH teams by ensuring smooth communication and coordination.
• Serve a high-quality food product and ensure presentation aligns with Maryland Club standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service in alignment with the Maryland Club’s elevated guest experience.
• Run beverages to assigned tables and seat numbers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to meet the demands of this role while maintaining professionalism and a high level of service.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to interact professionally with coworkers to uphold company service standards.
• Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including late nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to follow directions, stay organized, and maintain high attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand for long periods and use hands to handle or feel objects.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision.

Compensation

Hourly rate, commensurate with experience, and eligibility for overtime. This role may be eligible for Legends’ comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid vacation, and access to a 401k plan.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Location: On-site at the XFINITY Center in College Park, MD

• High School or better
