The Leggett & Platt Flooring division, located in Statesville, NC is searching for a Maintenance Electrician to join our Maintenance team to help support our Carpet Underlay business.

As a Maintenance Electrician you will have the opportunity to assist the maintenance department and/or the maintenance mechanics by creating, maintain, and repair the electrical and electronic components and equipment used in any equipment or device. Assist in mechanical task along with electrical. You may also perform other tasks as assigned.
Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring that the machinery and facility runs efficiently. The team you will be working with collaborates to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner.

So, what will you be doing as an Electrical Maintenance Mechanic?
- Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment: Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools.
- Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components.
- May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
- Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.
- Maintain clean and organized work area.
- Special projects/duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and do advanced math.
- Must be detail oriented and well organized.
- Must be able to change from one task to another frequently.
- Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds.
- Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools.
- Maintain equipment and do basic repairs as needed.
- Available to work on required Saturday’s.
