The Flooring Products division of Leggett & Platt Inc. is searching for an Operations Intern to help support our Flooring business in Statesville, NC. Leggett & Platt Flooring Products is the largest manufacturer of carpet cushion and hard surface underlayment in the United States. We manufacture and distribute foam, rubber, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use. Our flooring underlayment products provide support, cushioning, and noise reduction under virtually any finished flooring material in your home or business. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.
As an Operations Intern, you will be exposed to the wide range of operations across our site, including manufacturing, supply chain, quality, continuous improvement, employee relations, and more. We’re looking for someone with a growth mindset, who is willing to jump in to get their hands dirty, and who can communicate effectively with teammates. We will focus on providing experiential learning and professional development opportunities to develop your business acumen and professional skills and prepare you for future career endeavors. Professional networking opportunities will also be available through the corporate internship program and events. The internship will be for the Summer of 2025.
So, what will you be doing as an Operations Intern?
- Perform assessment on production reporting
- Job shadow plant supervision and understand the day-to-day of running a manufacturing line
- Create and present ideas for operational efficiency, automation, and / or standardization
- Support key projects that assist in driving business and financial results within operations function
