General description

The IT Support Technician is the go-to person for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software. They are responsible for answering queries and addressing system and user issues in a timely and professional manner. This person works with the IT team, and will often interact with system and computer users across the company. This person will train users on basic system and computer functions. Understanding and proactively maintaining daily system performance, having the ability to troubleshoot customer problems, and innate follow-up and follow-through skills are all essential aspects of the help desk support's day-to-day role.

  • Install, update, and repair software on organization systems
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
  • Track and monitor day-to-day performance of systems, and conduct analysis with the goal of improving performance
  • Monitor Jira ticketing queue while meeting SLO's with responses / resolution.
  • Respond to requests for new or configured hardware or software, and keep inventory up to date
  • Interface with external vendors
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, logging problems in Jira and documenting fixes
  • Maintain inventory of IT purchases and assets – creating / updating inventory records, assigning equipment to users, auditing inventorying and decommissioning
  • Support improvement of local IT infrastructure
  • Drive objectives and tool implementation from start to finish
  • Support new employee onboarding and IT training

What You"ll Bring :

  • Growth mindset (receptive to feedback, learner)
  • 3 years of experience in a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or similar role
  • Proficiency with desktop operating systems including Mac OS X and Windows 10, including network connectivity, installation, maintenance, and hardware configuration
  • Extensive application support experience with G-Suite and Office 365
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and experience supporting remote / hybrid users
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Jira and Confluence preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple objectives simultaneously
  • Be adaptive to ever changing technology requirements
  • Demonstrates an inspirational attitude that contributes to a positive team environment
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members along with willingness to set and maintain high standards of performance
  • Well developed ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write English
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Alternate Sitting or Standing at Will. The ability to alternate between sitting and standing is present when a worker has the flexibility to choose between sitting or standing as needed when this need cannot be accommodated by scheduled breaks and / or lunch period.
  • Entering text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard. Traditional Keyboard refers to a panel of keys used as the primary input device on a computer, typographic machine or 10-Key numeric keypad.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and / or fingers.
  • Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken or written word to impart oral and written information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken or written instructions to other workers accurately or quickly.
  • Employee is required to have close visual acuity at approximately 20 inches or less to perform an activity such as : preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

  • Lifting is raising or lowering an object from one level to another. Lifting can include an upward pulling motion. Carrying is to transport an object – usually by holding it in the hands or arms, or wearing it on the body.
  • Pushing is exerting force upon an object so that the object moves away from the origin of the force. Pulling is exerting force upon an object so that the object moves toward the origin of the force. Pushing or pulling may involve use of hands or arms and / or feet or legs done with one side of the body or both sides.
  • Extending the arm(s) with the hand(s) higher than the head and one of these conditions exist : (1) A person bends the elbows, and the angle at the shoulders is about 90 degrees or more, or (2) A person keeps the elbow extended, and the angle at the shoulder is about 120 degrees or more.
  • Reaching at or below the shoulder is present when there is ‘Reaching,' but it does not meet the threshold for ‘Overhead.' ‘Overhead' and ‘At or Below the Shoulder Reaching' can be present in the same task.
  • Stooping is bending the body forward and down while bending the spine at the waist 45 degrees or more either over something below waist level or down towards an object on or near the ground.
  • Bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, scaffolding, ropes, poles and the like requiring the use of both feet or legs and hands or arms.
