The Director of AMS Distribution Operations is a part of the Americas Supply Chain organization. The team is responsible for the end-to-end process of bringing products from manufacturing sites ultimately into the hands of shoppers and children.
The Distribution team has responsibility for driving operational excellence for operations, and preparing future capability and capacity to facilitate the growth of the LEGO Group in the region. The Distribution team includes warehouse management, transportation management, and import/export operations.
This director position plays a critical role in the organization, with process oversight of receiving products from factories, safe storage until needed, and shipping out orders to customers – while balancing both costs and service levels.
This role reports into the Senior Director, AMS Distribution. This director position is also a leadership role with responsibility of a team focused on distribution operations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversight of distribution operations for the LEGO® Group in the Americas, with focus on the Regional Distribution Centers and the local warehouses in the US and Canada. This includes B2B, ecommerce, and LEGO retail store support.
- Proactively manage 3PL partner service performance though focus on critical KPI’s. Partner with Procurement as needed to ensure 3PL partners are accountable to service requirements.
- Ensure that the distribution goals of the stakeholders within the LEGO Group (AMS Sales, LEGO Retail, LEGO Education) are clearly understood within operations and successfully executed by 3PL partners.
- Partner with Finance and 3PL partners to establish and track operational budgets. Drive productivity and cost savings initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with other distribution and transportation operations functions and across the AMS region to ensure the overall success of the team.
- Lead a high-performing distribution team, with an eye toward both overall team and individual improvement.
- Support strategic operations projects and champion continuous improvement initiatives
Do you have what it takes?
- BS degree at a minimum, preferably in Operations and/or with a Supply Chain Management background
- 10 years experience within Logistics and Distribution in AMS, at least 9 years experience in a manager role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of distribution and transportation, ideally encompassing 3PL partnership and management.
- Strong presentation and data analysis skills.
- Track record of delivering results through teamwork and collaboration, with strong communication and leadership skills.
- Experienced in leading or being a part of continuous improvement projects.
- Demonstrated experience in managing senior level stakeholders, working in a diverse and multi-functional working environment.
- Experience demonstrating success in project management would be a plus.
- English fluent level
- Experience managing operations budgets and contracts
- Boston office based position; minimum commutable days to office is 3 days per week.
The salary for this position has a range of min 156,432 to 234,648 annual based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The definitive compensation may vary in alignment with the selected candidate’s professional background, experience, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.
