What you'll bring to the team
Essential Functions:
- Provide BLS (Basic Life Support) emergency medical care to guests, LLCR employees, contractors and third-party vendors onsite.
- Operation of medical emergency vehicle to and from emergency and non-emergency scene’s in a manner appropriate to patient condition. Never in an unsafe manner and to keep in mind the safety of self and others.
- Coordinates patient care, between local transport agencies and LLCR emergency staff.
- Assist Health Services Assistant Manager and Head of Safety & Health Services with duties related to management of work-related injuries.
- Make recommendations for light duty work for injured employees and find them reasonable accommodations within Resort.
- Provide proper aftercare treatment instructions to injured guests/employees within an EMT scope of practice.
- Completes detailed, accurate and legible documentation/reports prior to EOS.
- Maintains appropriate EMT/CPR certifications.
- Performs all duties in a safe courteous, confidential and professional manner, always taking into account the well-being of the patient.
- Properly clean and stock all treatment areas and medical bags/equipment, clean and maintain emergency response vehicle and prepares first aid clinics for daily operation.
- Assist Health Services Assistant Manager with supply inventory of first aid stations and AED checks.
- Scans medical files to secure drive and scans light duty work documents to supervisors throughout the park or any other administrative duties as assigned by the Health Services/ Security management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Background and Experience:
- Clinical and/or EMS field experience is highly desirable.
- Requires a minimum of (1) year of experience in the medical field. EMT experience preferred.
- Must have a current San Diego EMT or Paramedic certificate.
- Must have a current CPR certificate.
- Pediatric, emergency room or theme park medical experience is highly desirable.
- Basic knowledge of Cal OSHA, hazard communications and safety training methods preferred.
- Computer proficiency with ability to use Microsoft Office Products is preferred.
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication and reasoning skills.
- 1 years of EMT experience and;
- Minimum availability of 2 days a week open availability for all shifts on those days.
- Must be available to work 3 out of the 7 major holidays.
- Must pass medical and trauma SIM
- Assists with basic work comp/light duty duties.
Education:
Must be a graduate of a State accredited or recognized EMT/Paramedic program and possess a current California and San Diego County certifications, in good standing. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS).
Other Requirements:
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, holidays and weekends to support Resort operations.
- Must have valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and be willing to utilize own vehicle for business purposes.
- Outgoing energetic personality with a love for children.
- Experience working with Children is desirable.
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to remain busy during downtime.
