Job Title: Entertainment Wardrobe Assistant Manager Division: LEGOLAND Parks Grade: D Job Classification: Exempt Department: Operations Reports to: Operations Director/Entertainment Manager Direct Reports: Wardrobe Associates, Costume Assistant and Costume Lead  Scope of Job:LEGOLAND New York Resort is seeking an Entertainment Wardrobe Assistant Manager who is detail-oriented, highly motivated, people oriented, and proactive. Our Team supports two key business areas under one roof, Entertainment Creative Costuming & Resort Wardrobe / Uniform support. The first includes Creative Costuming and support all Core and Consumer Entertainment offerings from performer to costume character design, procurement, fabrication, fittings, laundry and maintenance. The second providing services to support all Uniform for LEGOLAND New York Resort Theme Park operational teams  Key Objectives:•To create, foster, and drive a harmonious team culture focusing on innovation, business strategy, and team growth to optimize and enhance the departments’ production quality, partnership with creative & production teams, performer experience and journey, and inspiring a fun and creative work environment.•To support a costuming team based on the overall entertainment growth to include but not limited to:oAligning the costume design process by holding validity to the approved designs.oEnhancing existing inventory, shop stock, vendor relationships and procurement process•To progress forward advancements within the current Wardrobe and general uniform touch points around inventory control, support services, and overall Model Citizen journey around customer service.•Actively participate in forward product development executing within the aligned overall multiyear strategy vision.•Develop & drive key innovative, development, and department enhancement processes for the technical division.  Main Responsibilities: Responsible for driving the Costume Production processes through all phases of the new show, event or experience development working with all Entertainment and Resort Department Partner teams to ensure the successful product opening for guests▪ Manages the daily operational budget specific to the needs of general shop supplies, uniform garments, laundry services, maintenance of equipment, production and fabrication costume costs, and department staff labor.▪Leads and supports all functions of the department including recruiting, training, and development of all roles – cross training into operational roles to ensure having team coverage to better support a flexible work environment.▪ Maintain inventory of Costuming and Wardrobe supplies, equipment and systems.▪ Supervise the quality assurance of product and support areas tracking documents, budget tracking, and procurement services.▪Supports special events as assigned including but not limited to character offsite requests, Resort Awards recognition programs, partnership events, internal park events▪Administrative duties include payroll, recognition platforms, schedules, recordkeeping, performance▪ Supervise the daily operations including, deliveries, pickups, laundry, and dry-cleaning procedures▪Communicates, inspires, and maintains new project intent among all while maintaining collaborative relationships with executive leadership, department production, technical, costuming supervisors and partner department teams.▪Advocates and actively participates in maintaining a safe, fun and professional work environment for all teams including conducting team Building sessions, Meetings, and being an active and engaged leader.▪Attends all Pre-Production, Production, and Postproduction Meetings▪Serve as Department Duty Manager and active Park Leadership Ambassador▪Perform other duties as assigned  Background and Experience:•(3 ) Years of proven experience in Entertainment costume production & design, sewing, patterning, dressing, fitting, maintenance and working with various fabrics and textiles•(3 ) Years of Theatre/Entertainment Costuming Management/Leadership experience – theme park / cruise ship preferred•(3 ) Years of proven ability to lead diversely skilled Entertainment teams supported by positive performance evaluations.•Must have strong familiarity with budgeting and tracking expenses•Must have strong partnering, collaborative, and team results skills•Must have strong understanding of all creative, production and technical processes•Ability to read and interpret CAD style programs, drawings, and other pattern documents•Must have a general knowledge of uniform distribution and inventory processes as well as•Must have a working knowledge of costume character construction, fabrication, refurbishment, and cleaning procedures•Must be flexible in schedule allowing support and active participation in all production and fabrication processes, rehearsal dress parades, technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals, daily operational, refurbishments, and daily operations•Proven evaluation & problem-solving skills•Ability to work days, nights, and over holidays to support Peak and Off-Peak Entertainment offerings across all Resort functions.• Proficient in Microsoft & Adobe software products. Knowledge of purchasing and reporting systems.• Demonstrated initiative, communication and interpersonal skills; Confident and outgoing presence with the ability to professionally interact with various levels of team members and leadership.• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects with a detailed oriented style and strict deadlines.  Education: •Bachelor’s degree in theatre/costuming design/production or related field or equivalent professional experience within Entertainment/Theatre industry.  People: Supervisors and employees will have consistent communication and meetings with this role (i.e. schedules, payroll, and training). Promote and demonstrate LEGO’s and Merlin’s culture and core values through words and actions. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, effectively managing and documenting employee relations.  Health & Safety: Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.Managers/supervisors are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their team, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, they must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that all employees in their teams are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it. They must ensure that safe working practices are monitored, and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.  Physical Demands: •Ability to sit for sustained periods of time, to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel and drive.•Must be able to demonstrate safe installation of lighting and audio gear on site.•Must be able climb a ladder, truss and lift heavy equipment which can exceed over 25lbs•Must be able to walk long distances, work around water, work in various climates including rain, being exposed to natural outdoor air quality and be able to be respirator trained when needed.•Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site, and interact with employees.•Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.•Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.•Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.•Must be able to work in varying temperatures, climates inside and outside, as well as in direct and indirect sunlight.  Work Environment:▪Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.▪Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.  Other Job Requirements:▪Performs other duties as assigned.▪Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings

Pay Range

Compensation between USD $60,500.00/Yr.-USD $62,000.00/Yr.
