SCHEDULE: 4 days of 10 hours with rotating Fridays

JOB SUMMARY
As a Certified Inspector:
- Conducts site inspections on residential, commercial and industrial buildings to assure conformity with established city and state uniform building codes.
- Receives and examines building plans for compliance with uniform building code and to city ordinances.
- Makes corrections for errors on blueprints.
- Discusses and explains ordinances and codes to concerned home owners and contractors.
REQUIREMENTS
Inspector 3
I.C.C. and/or State of Utah Certified Combination Inspector in all four areas of residential AND commercial inspection (plumbing, electrical, mechanical, building) AND 4 years of relevant inspection experience
Inspector 2
I.C.C. and/or State of Utah Certified Limited Inspector in all four areas of residential inspection (plumbing, electrical, mechanical, building) AND 2 years of relevant inspection experience
Inspector 1
I.C.C. and/or State of Utah Certified Limited Inspector in at least one area of residential inspection (plumbing, electrical, mechanical, building) AND 0-2 years of total inspection experience
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Cooperative problem solving.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Visualize completed projects in planning stages and estimate the end results.
- Estimate quantity of materials accurately.
- Perform advanced mathematical calculations.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, federal agencies, state agencies, local governments, subordinates, and the public.
