Purpose of Your Job Position
The primary purpos e of your position is to efficiently manage rehabilitation services in the Facility . The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for the highest standard of rehabilitation services is being delivered and maintained to the Facility’s residents .
Delegation of Authority
As Director of Rehabilitation you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.

Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative Functions
Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and dire ct the rehabilitation services of the Facility.
Keep abreast of current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards of practice, and make recommendations on changes in policies and procedures to the Administrator.
Review department policies and procedures, at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes.
Interview resident and families , as necessary , in a private setting .
Refer resident and families to appropriate personnel, as needed, to meet resident and family needs.
Involve residents and famil ies in planning Facility rehabilitation programs.
Assist in the review and updating of departmental job descriptions , at least annually.
Assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the R ehabilitation Department.
Assume responsibility for daily staffing and utilization with input from treating rehabilitation therapists, residents’ needs, and recommendations from the Administrator.
Maintain a productive working relationship with the medical profe ssion and other health related f acilit ies and organizations.
Review and evaluate the department’s work force and make recommendations to the Administrator.
